My name is Allison, and this is where I write. I learned long ago that words have power, beauty, and the ability to connect us in a way that nothing else can. I am a self-professed hot mess who God continues to bless every day despite my failures. His free gift of grace has absolutely changed my life. 

God blessed me with an amazing husband to walk through life with, and we got the surprise of a lifetime when our sweet Carter was born in 2011. He is a lover of anything with wheels, despises having his picture taken, and is happiest on a boat on the lake. His spunky little sister, Kate, followed shortly after him in 2013, and she is the spicy one. This girl is an absolute joy, lives for her baby dolls, and has a sweet tooth as big as Texas.

After several years of simply blogging about my children, I began "A Hot Blessed Mess" in January of 2015 in order to write about family, health, parenting, and style. Well, by August, God had made it clear that now was the time to move forward with our adoption plans, and we embarked on an adventure of bringing home a baby boy from China. We brought home our precious Brooks from Zhejiang province in China in November 2016. He was the perfect little cherry on top and completed our family in the most amazing and unexpected way.

At the end of January 2016, I joined up with the amazing Wynne Elder to become an Independent Ambassador for the Noonday Collection. Noonday is truly changing lives all around the world through style. I am so excited to be partnering with a company who truly wants all women to flourish.
